Have a tuberculosis (TB) screening test as well as other immunizations

There are five schools in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory that offer programs for becoming a midwife. Although minimum ATAR scores vary greatly across these schools, the University of Technology in Sydney listed a recent minimum ATAR above 98! The University of Technology Sydney also offers a Bachelor of Midwifery on its own as a 3-year program but it also comes with a very high selection rank requirement of 98.40.
University of Newcastle Bachelor of Midwifery
This 3-year full time program recently accepted students with ATARs ranging from 78-98.
This course offers flexible delivery options with a mix of face-to-face and online activities, as well as hands-on experience in clinical settings.
What is the minimum ATAR for Midwifery in the Northern Territory?
Students wishing to study to become a midwife in the Northern Territory only have one program to choose from so they need to achieve the highest ATAR possible to secure their spot in this popular course. The Charles Darwin University Bachelor of Midwifery degree can be completed in 3 years of full-time studies or 6 years part time and requires a minimum ATAR of at least 80 after adjustments. Although the ATAR for midwifery at 75 isn’t as high as it is elsewhere in Australia, Edith Cowan University is the only school offering this type of program in the state so entry can be competitive. To study midwifery in Tasmania, students must already have a nursing degree to enter the University of Queensland’s Bachelor of Midwifery graduate program in Hobart. While there is no ATAR for midwifery specifically needed to get into this program, high school hopefuls will need to get the best marks possible to meet the requirements to get into nursing so that they can later go on to gain entry to this graduate program.
What is the minimum ATAR for Midwifery in South Australia?
With two universities offering options to study midwifery in South Australia, students will have two options, however both of them require an ATAR of at least 80.
Flinders University Bachelor of Midwifery degree requires quite a high ATAR (plus adjustments) as the lowest selection rank to receive an offer recently was 94.35. This program is offered both full and part time.
University of South Australia Bachelor of Midwifery program requires an ATAR for midwifery of 81.8 (91.5 Selection Rank)

Students hoping to study midwifery in Queensland are in luck as there are a wide range of options and schools available (see below). They also offer a 3-year Bachelor of Midwifery single degree that requires an ATAR of 95.
What is the minimum ATAR for Midwifery in Victoria?
As in Queensland, Victoria offers students quite a lot of options for studying to be a midwife, and the minimum ATAR varies from the mid-70s up into the 90s. How to become a midwife without an ATAR?
If you didn’t meet the ATAR for midwifery at the school of your choice, are in the middle of another degree program, or already have an undergrad degree in a related subject (i.e., nursing or science), there are still options to have an exciting career as a midwife. Some universities will allow students to transfer into an undergraduate midwifery degree after completing one year in a different program, and many universities also consider vocational experience and bridging programs when looking at new applicants. For Registered Nurses hoping to expand their careers into midwifery, a postgraduate degree is likely your best option.
